CitiPower and Powercor distribute electricity to homes and businesses across Melbourne and much of Victoria. With roots as a public utility, the business now operates commercially, in an industry being reshaped by digitalisation, the energy transition and climate risk. The organisation wanted its leaders to make more data-driven decisions, collaborate across the business, engage stakeholders and bring an innovation mindset to everyday leadership, and to practise it on real problems rather than in theory.
Monash Business School Executive Education designed the High Impact Leadership Development Program, a bespoke program for 24 leaders from across CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy. Napica led its delivery, with Mathias Grüttner as Program Director, Delivery, working alongside Monash faculty and researchers. The program had a triple focus: the business problem, the people around it, and the leader as a person.
Over ten months, 24 leaders worked on challenges that matter to the business, built networks across divisions and practised the habits the organisation wanted to see: decisions based on data, collaboration with stakeholders and a willingness to explore new ideas before committing to projects. The program ended with team recommendations presented directly to senior leadership.
Napica designs and delivers in-house leadership and change programs, shaped around the real problems your leaders face.
